Why are the years we spend in high school known as the glory days? Don’t get me wrong, I had a blast in high school. I did sports, was involved in activities, made several friends who I am still close to today… But given the choice between continuing on in the life I have now (college, soon to graduate, starting a career) I would, hands down, continue in the life I have now.
I have grown so much between my high school graduation and present day. I have gained more self-confidence in myself and and independence that is hard to shake every time I go home. There are many other things I have learned about myself and the world around me, but the point is, there is no way I would go back to the days of high school.
Anyway, isn’t it depressing to always look back at the first years of your life and resign to believing those were the best days you will have?
